The Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies will hold public witnesses hearings on March 18, 2015, for all subcommittee programs, and on March 24 and 25, 2015, for American Indian/Alaskan Native programs.

Today, Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Ken Calvert (CA-42) pressed U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe about the possible inclusion of the greater sage-grouse on the Federal endangered species list. Director Ashe stated that no decision on listing the greater sage-grouse would occur prior to September, 2015.

The Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies will hold public witnesses hearings on April 10, 2014, for all subcommittee programs, and on April 7 and 8, 2014, for American Indian/Alaskan Native programs.

The deadline to submit requests to testify is March 13, 2014.

Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson examined the President’s budget proposal for the Bureau of Land Management during an appropriations subcommittee hearing yesterday. During the hearing, Simpson questioned BLM Principle Deputy Director Neil Kornze on grazing, sage-grouse, and the impact of frivolous litigation on the agency.
