Granger on Commerce, Justice, and Science Bill

Press Release
WASHINGTON – Today, the Commerce, Justice, and Science Subcommittee met to consider its appropriations bill for fiscal year 2020. The measure was reported out of the Subcommittee and is expected to be considered soon by the Full Committee.

Top Appropriations Committee Republican Kay Granger (R-TX) said of the measure, "From expanding economic opportunity, making our communities safer, and investing in cutting-edge science, the Commerce, Justice, and Science bill addresses a number of our nation's pressing priorities. However, I have concerns about the overall funding level and several controversial policy positions, including the omission of long-standing Second Amendment protections.

"I want to work with my colleagues as the bill moves through the process to address these concerns and develop a fiscally responsible budget framework."
