Granger on Financial Services Bill

Jun 3, 2019
Press Release
WASHINGTON – Today, the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee met to consider its appropriations bill for fiscal year 2020. The measure was reported out of the Subcommittee and is expected to be considered soon by the Full Committee.

Top Appropriations Committee Republican Kay Granger (R-TX) said of the measure, "As a result of the Subcommittee's efforts, the Financial Services bill includes many priorities supported by Members on both sides of the aisle, such as programs that bolster small businesses, combat drug trafficking, and prevent terrorism. However, the bill includes an irresponsible eight percent increase, targets border wall funding, and leaves out a long-standing pro-life provision.

"I want to work with my colleagues as the bill moves through the process to address these concerns and develop a fiscally responsible budget framework."
